Files you process

Files processed using our browser-based tools never leave your device. All conversion, compression, and transformation runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and the Canvas/WebAssembly APIs. We do not upload, store, or access any files you process with FileExpert.io.

What we collect

The only data we collect is anonymous usage analytics:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-BNVSQPHF0R) records page views, aggregated session data, approximate location (country/region, derived from IP), device type, and referring site. The IP address is anonymized by Google and is not stored in your analytics data. We do not enable Google Signals, advertising features, or cross-site tracking.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, user agent) — retained for 30 days for security.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, remarketing tags, or any third-party tag managers beyond Google Analytics.

Cookies

FileExpert.io itself does not set cookies. However, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (_ga, _ga_<container-id>) to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. These cookies do not contain personally identifiable information and expire after up to 2 years. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking third-party scripts in your browser.

Data processors

We rely on the following third-party services to operate the site:

  • Google LLC — analytics (Google Analytics 4). See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Our hosting provider — serves the static site and retains short-term access logs for security and abuse prevention.

Future advertising

If we introduce advertising in the future to help cover hosting costs, we will deploy a compliant consent management platform (CMP) before any advertising or tracking cookies are set on your device. We will update this policy to list any ad networks used and describe the choices available to you.

GDPR & CCPA

Because we do not collect personal data through tool usage, GDPR and CCPA disclosure requirements about data subjects do not apply to file processing. For analytics data, the legal basis is legitimate interest in measuring aggregate site usage.

Children

FileExpert.io is intended for users aged 13 and older.
